Local sports journalism.. a dying profession living on borrowed time.
Like the town crier, local sports journalism is an anachronism and Rick Waghorn has just about admitted as much with his latest article.
What is the Evening News for? He's admitted that they can't speculate because of a fear of being innacurate in their reporting or even of potential libel action and they can't announce news before everyone already knows - the club sends out official SMS messages before any other medium for a start.
What is the point of you in the 21st century Mr. Waghorn?
Come in the Evening News...your time is up.
