What was the point in that article?

Other than to provoke a reaction on WotB and similar websites.

We all know that the message boards are full of unfounded rumour and speculation but they?re also usually the first place to get the latest news.

At least if you read message boards you get honest opinion and not a watered down version of the truth printed so as not to annoy anyone at the club.
