McNally was actually a dark agent droid from an unknown operating collective that specialises in deep infiltration and systematic inner destruction of the type of organisation that is mildly important but largely mundane in it's relative position in the world.
He was sent to The Norwich as an act of revenge by the great alien overlord of Robert Chase, with the task of building heightened expectation and then crushing it to ashes in the space of one year. McNally droid has now disappeared back into the ether and may return one day in the guise of a new CEO, after he has his outer casing removed and remoulded.
