the emphasis on press conferences is mind-boggling
I always felt in Hughton's press conferences he was simply being respectful to the opposition, not negative. If an opposition manager says anything 'disrespectful' to us you get loads of people on here saying we should pin the comments up on the dressing room wall for inspiration etc. so it cuts both ways. You can't win if you mention them at all.
Adams (especially) and AN both are supposedly more 'positive' in their press conferences but spookily it has no impact whatsoever on what happens on the pitch.
