I would guess that............
NcNally has made a lot of money from the club and taken it about as far as he could so it was a probably a good time for him to get out.
If NC had wanted him to stay then they wouldn't have accepted his resignation.
Likewise, if NC had wanted McNally to leave then they would have given him the opportunity to resign rather than be sacked.
