League table doesnt lie does it?
Only saw the second half of that on a dodgy stream, but at no point did we even come close to creating a meaningful chance. We played like what we are, a team already down and one that frankly deserves to be down.
Massive close season coming up now. When we went down last time it felt like we had a really strong looking squad. Despite that, we still only came up through the playoffs. This time I think the squad doesn't look as strong, and that's before the loans go back and before we get 2/3 of the better players that may jump ship.
We're going to need to retain and more importantly recruit really well to be a top 6 team I would say. Either that or some of the young players we've grown and/or spent quite a bit of cash on are going to have to step up big time.
Massive test for Alex Neil too. He's got to build his own team now, and it will be on his shoulders. I think we'll stick with him, and think we should, but if we're struggling 4/5 games in then the knives will be out and I'm not sure he'll be able to argue.
