It makes me so cross! This cohort in particular have it really tough.
They are being used as guinea pigs in the government's game. They've only been learning the new curriculum for just over a year and yet they'll be tested as though they've covered all six years of it.
I promise you teachers are struggling to understand some of the terms covered.
I'm all for challenging our kids to be the best they can, but do they honestly think six year olds will understand the rule for apostrophes to mark possession in single nouns? I was 13 when I was taught that and there are an awful lot of grocers who still haven't got the hang of it, yet it's in the Y2 syllabus.
