The world has changed. The EU is a response to that, not the cause of it. An OUT vote would be a statement that we are scared of the new world and want to retreat from it rather than make it work. That hasn't been Britain's way in the past and it won't now - Britain is actually doing a great job of adapting and making the EU work for it, better than most other countries. We surely won't throw that away now.
