I don't think it makes any difference.

A few ex-pro's were talking about this on the radio the other day. They said that the players don't take any notice of it and it's more part of the off field entertainment of football. Basically it's just giving journos something to publish. They also mentioned about the protests at Arsenal and that it wouldn't affect the players either. When you're on the pitch you're focused and zone out stuff like that.
