Re Starbucks though the reason that is tolerated is because

I understand that despite the high profile examples such as Starbucks and Amazon oversll we benefit from taxes from UK registered/domiciled companies operating around the world who pay their tax in the UK rather than where they are operating. So if we started making all these companies pay tax n their UK income in the UK and all the other countries did the same then ultimately we may lose out in terms of tax revenues.

Not saying the current system is fair but I understand that's why they've not exactly rushed to change it, that and attracting inward investment
