I was ill and bed bound so I didn't get to see too much of Edinburgh...
...but I did get to watch plenty of telly whilst everyone went sightseeing. On the Scottish equivalent of Look East or About Angular a young Scottish band were featured singing a song they were about to release as a single which I thought, when I heard it, was a bit of a joke (I wasn't well remember and quite grumpy). The interviewer even had the temerity to suggest they were going to London to become popstars which made me snort with derision at the time...
The band was Altered Images and the song was Happy Birthday; I know nothing...
