You've probably seen far more of Smith on the telly, being a Yorkshire lad and all.

Smith could have walked out on Leeds much, much earlier than he did, and I bet the club would have (privately) asked him to leave when they went down, because they really needed the money - I really don't think staying at Leeds was an option for him at that point.

Didn't realise he was a Liverpool fan though!
