To like music PK you don't have to go for the obvious, sold millions artists

or the pioneers

Get yourself down to your nearest venue that has signed acts and listen to the new stuff coming out

Get the stuff you mention and enjoy it, but don't just put it up there worship it

I saw 3 bands last night with record deals, Dolorso (a band that were doing the whole interpol thing, wasn't for me though even though I like interpol). Second band were called Keith, shocking name for a band but they were alright

Third band were this years semi tipped band the Sunshine Underground, who were what I see as, what the Ordinary Boys should sound like. Good solid tunes, good 80's bass going on, sounding like shed 7 and the killers a long the way, but good

All 3 bands stunk of influences before them, but I still had a mint time

Get out there and see these bands, they might not be groundbreaking, but they are certainly enjoyable without me saying how amazing they are
