This stuff in the papers attacking him because he signed a contract extension in the summer then left in January. So what. Maybe he thought that a team that were favourites for promotion might be somewhere near the play-offs by January.
Hardly a good career move to stay at a club where the manager is so tactically inept that he doesn't have a clue how to get the best out of you. If he had stayed to the end of the season and continued at his current scoring rate, maybe there wouldn't be any premiership clubs (or at least decent ones) who wanted him.
If we had kept him, he wouldn't have scored enough goals in our team (hooooffff!!!) to get us promoted and then we would have got less money for him in the summer anyway.
No problems with the player. He probably would have stayed if we were playing well and in the play-offs or top 2 but we aren't - and that is Worthingtons fault.
