After The Ashton Debacle...
...and, rose tinted spectacles or not, it appeared that we were going to sell him almost as soon as we'd bought him...
I don't know, the whole story, his deameanour and seemingly negative attitude, lack of effort, "injuries", the whole saga from day 1...it makes me think just how luicky we were to have a player like Iwan, OK, he wasn't flash, he wasn't a "name" but he loved the club and area, he got stuck in, his shoulders never-ever dropped and he scored goals, he didn't care how, he just wanted to score goals-and he was a team man as well, organising socials for the players and generally being a positive presence. Everything Ashton seemingly wasn't...and he still loves the club.
A gem. I hope he comes back in some capacity one day, but I fear not.
