Mbokani in particular isn't mobile enough to press effectively - particularly when compared to Jerome. And playing with two defensive midfielders mean that the opposition should always have an out-ball to one of their midfielders. Also Wes and Howson on the wings are always going to drift inside, rather than effectively press the opposition full backs.

Was a strange team choice if that was his main plan.
