so lose to Chelsea on the Tues and have someone else in by the Saturday? No
it's decision time for them now, there is no more time left.
Maybe the West Ham game is the very last practical decision point, to give a decent run up to the next game, but really it's time to decide now. We've had 25 games to base the decision on, it's not as though one more game is going to lead to Damascene conversion on who he is, how he goes about things, how he sets up the team. And what if it's a spawny last minute win? Or if it's a heart breaking last minute defeat after playing them off the park?
I'd actually say it's too late. It might be the gin talking but I can't see where 3 wins come from, let alone the 5 or 6 I think we need. It's taken 25 games to get 6. Are we going to get the same again across 13 games?
I don't think it's a manager issue anyway. He is just as well equipped to get us out of this as anyone else (anyone else that is likely to want to risk tarnishing their CV with a relegation by coming here, anyway). I just don't think we have enough players of sufficient quality. We're still essentially a Championship team.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing, but a few extra million in the summer across our main targets would have made a world of difference.
