probably out of desperation. You could also say it would get you four Bradys or Snodgrasses. It could get you Kante, Vardy and Mahrez with change. It could get you Capoue, Deeney and Ighalo. We have easily enough money to buy players that can establish us in the league - we just haven't signed the right ones.

Partly that is because some of our bigger targets in recent years have turned us down due to reasons like poor location, fear of relegation, unknown manager, unfashionable club etc... But the money is there and the players are available to take us forward - we have just not found them yet. Instead we've spent about 40m on RvW, Jarvis, Naismith and Klose.
