FAO Londoners: Might want to avoid vicinity of Bank of England etc on Monday morning
Should imagine this may cause a bit of hassle for the morning commute for anyone using Bank etc.
FW: Protest Alert - Anonymous - Operation Shut down the banks 08/02/2016 London
Summary of Proposed Demonstrations
The ?hacktivist? group Anonymous are planning to launch a protest in a bid to bring as much disruption to the daily operations of Banks in the UK and America, under the heading Operation Shut Down the Banks, and are using the Twitter hashtag #Opicarus to co-ordinate communications. One of their primary targets is the Bank of England at its headquarters on Threadneedle Street London EC2R 8AH.
Organisers are calling for attendees to muster at 0600hrs at Bank of England building, where the protest scheduled to take place until 1159hrs or until attendees are removed by Law Enforcement.
Protests linked with the Occupy/Anonymous movements have in the past drawn significant numbers of supporters and have occasionally resulted in violence/disorder, therefore any colleagues potentially encountering the protest activity on their daily commute should use caution, and any suspicious activity observed at or near to TSB buildings/branches should be immediately reported through the normal channels.
