Chris Wise`s article in EDP
This is a copy of my email response. Mr Wise usually gets it right in my view but not on this ocassion.

I disagree with Chris`s assessment that Worthington is not to blame for Ashton`s departure. I accept that it was good business for Norwich to sell him in the current circumstances. However Worthington is squarely to blame for those circumstances arising in the first place. By his poor signings and hoofball style of football ( inevitably caused by those poor signings) he has turned our football team into an average Championship side playing dull long ball football , devoid of flair ( apart from occassional flashes by Huckerby), and with a leaky defence. I do not imagine for one moment that if we had a realistic prospect of promotion ( aka Crystal Palace and playing a style of football that suited Ashton) that either the Board or Ashton himself would have contemplated leaving other than for really stupid money ( not ?7m) .
