Some point to France 98 and say he was at fault for the pen that got france the game, but again like yesterday, you had to look at it properly, and it was Gerrards fault for passing it back 20 yards to him with Henry baring down on james from the minute Gerrard kicked it

Of course the blame flew to James for it, but it was a piece of suicide play from Gerrard

All im saying is people are so quick to say "mistake after mistake" but in reality, if you have geniune error he has done for england apart from Austria, I'd like to hear it

Cos he didn't put a foot wrong for man city last year, if he did, you'd have heard about it

He's a lot better than people credit him for. And when I say that, people are very quick to forget the good games he's had, ie Turkey home and away in the last campaign where he was excellent (as were the teams)

I really hope green gets on, but I fear for him when a capable keeper gets the piss ripped out of him time and time again. I fear for Greeno playing for us if the same people are gonna queue up to destroy him
