Fellow Championship outfit Norwich City look set to table an offer in excess of ?3million for Cameron Jerome. With debts piling up, such a massive fee will really tempt CCFC owner Sam Hammam, who has already stood firm on two bids from Sheffield United.

Norwich City look set to launch an attractive bid to sign Cameron Jerome following the sale of their leading marksman Dean Ashton to West Ham United.

Hammers boss Alan Pardew, once linked with a move for Cardiff's top scorer, looks to have taken a massive gamble on the highly-rated England Under-21 international by splashing out ?7.25million for his services. This has left the Canaries with money to spend, and 19-year-old Jerome is thought to top Nigel Worthington's wanted list.

City owner Sam Hammam has slapped a ?3.5million price tag on the head of Jerome, generally conceived as an unrealistic figure for such an unproven youngster. However, Norwich are said to be massive admirers of the forward's raw pace and power and could tempt the club with an offer close to the whopping valuation. With financial debts in excess of ?30million, Hammam may be forced to eat humble pie and sell the striker to a fellow Championship club.

The Bluebirds have turned down two offers from Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock. He was left fuming after seeing ?1.2million and ?2million bids turned down, but CCFC remain firm on their massive asking price.
The saga rumbles on and on.
