This "4 points for an away win" thing that's being discussed
Talksport have been on about it on-and-off all day: FIFA or UEFA or poss even just the FA are about to discuss it as a way of making the game more exciting, in the wake of the burgeoning fashion for a stifling 4-5-1.
Me, I can't see it doing any more than increasing the gap between the rich and the skint. OK I haven't actually sat and back-fit the past few seasons to prove or disprove, but my gut instinct is that it won't do any good. We tried to stick to 4-4-2 most of the time, and tried to entertain, and we got rellied.
I don't see how giving an extra point for winning away would've made us any more likely to win. The top three, on the other hand, would've skated even further away.
Thoughts?
