The Ms. has an I-River H-120, which is absolutely fantastic.

I keep eyeing up the Sony Network Walkman (20GB version).

256MB won't get you very far, BUT! It's very small...only drawback is only 10hrs of playback. And having to fiddle around with AAA batteries.
