Landon Donovan certainly was, but he looked like too much of a poser. Not much has changed there then!

Incidentally, the Australian stirker Scott McDonald who scored twice for Motherwell to beat Celtic and give Rangers the Scottish title last week also played in that tournament, scoring against the US in the semi, and eventually losing to Brazil on pennos in the final.
