What was the point in visiting Colney when you only want to join a top 6 side?

Reports since December saying the teams currently in 15th, 18th & 20th places in the league are looking at him.

Then in the middle of the window he flies over to take a look at a place he supposedly has no intention of signing with and his agent comes out and (allegedly) says "lol jk spurs want him"

Isn't this just a waste of everyone's time?
