So frustrated..

Over Christmas delighted with our improved form and hoping for some genuinely exciting signings in the window. Then pretty disappointed with a piss-poor no show in the FA Cup. Again. Can?t understand why we don?t take seriously a competition we might..just might... have a chance of winning.

But hey ho I come back down to earth and realise the Prem and survival is what it?s all about. Really rate our manager, and feel 100% certain that he?s put a lot of thought into preparation and game plan for Stoke game. Hate Stoke. Hate Hughes.Really hopeful we might get something. If not why didn?t we play a stronger side in Cup?

Last couple of days trying not to get too bothered by transfer rumours. Hoping manager is in his usual quiet way going to get some business done. Start to get excited as today goes on building up expectations for tonight.

Game starts and early signs are encouraging. Game plan clearly being executed. Players seem to know what?s expected of them and hope begins to turn to expectation that we might really get something from the game.

Then, in one ridiculous moment, a senior professional with years of experience, included in the side as much for his calming influence as anything else, and one whom we have lauded for his professionalism on many occasions, destroys the whole thing. Lets down his manager, his team-mates and tens of thousands of supporters.

A harsh assessment? Yes, if we were talking about a young player making his way in the game. No if we?re talking about a player with over 400 senior appearances behind him.

And so to Saturday. Away to the latest rich kid on the block, loved by all the neutrals who have fallen for the boyish manager with the gleaming smile. Gosh how I?d love us to go there and do them again.

If we lose then I start to wonder about the Cup again. Why rest players if they can?t be relied upon mentally?

Then if we have another s**t transfer window....

God I find football supporting hard sometimes....
