Given an agent has an obligation to act in his client's best interests, *IF* he's not returning calls then it's because he's been told not to. Which suggests our offer isn't compelling enough.

However, I strongly suspect that the Mirror story is bollocks. "But sources have told Mirror Sport ..." should always be a red flag. Often means "In the pub at lunchtime we came up with..."

No-one who actually knows what is going on in any transfer saga will be leaking to the press (unless as intentional mischief making). What the office admin monkey might have overheard and sold to the press is only going to be a tiny portion of the picture.
