I was just reading that earlier. Proper s**t for music in the area.

Same thing has been happening here where a lot of the old music venues (and other places) are being bought up and knocked down for apartment blocks. Although now there's a massive oversupply of apartments compared to the population size so a lot of places are remaining empty. At least it's some kind of consolation that these developers are not making a return now but still crap that it could have been still open as a decent venue.

Seems the way of the world now though, especially with the spread of gentrification through cities and towns all over the world.
