I asked him whether we wanted to sign Lees. He said:
"Assuming that you are happy with an opinion based on message board match reports and the odd dubious internet stream, I would say....probably, depending on what you are looking for
We picked him up for free from Leeds at the start of the 2014/15 season (much to the annoyance of many of our fans). Since then he has definitely become a fan favorite. Seems to do everything pretty well - good positioning, good distribution, good in the air, the odd heroic last ditch tackle, massive ears, etc. We certainly look more defensively solid when we have him playing.
I guess the question is whether he is good enough at any of these things to make the step up. If the answer is yes, then you could have the next john stones on your hands. If not, then he could be the next Jason Shackell.
One thing I would be worried about would be buying him to throw him straight in to what might be a relegation dogfight for you chaps. No idea why I am worried about this, other than the fact that it seems to be the type of thing that sage pundits tend to say, and it does seem like a reasonable way to shatter a young chaps confidence. However if you are looking for someone to devlop then you can have him for 7 million plus hooper and turner."
