Ed Balls was hated by many British voters for reasons I never understood

He commanded respect across the political spectrum; many Tories as well as Labour centrists felt bad for him when he lost his seat. He's one of very few people in the UK who truly understands economics, takes no s**t from anyone, loves this club and even laughed at Ipswich Town in the House of Commons.

Plus he was part of a government which embraced and (at one time) was popular with business. He'll have shedloads of contacts and might, just might, be the man to help us find new owners when the time is right.

I think it's an excellent appointment that'll get people talking about the club again. No way is he going to let us just slide out of this league without a fight. Welcome Ed!
