That's true but you're missing the point by confusing a 'punt'
with a 'toe-punt'. Entirely different concepts. A toe-punt refers to kicking the ball using the toe end of your boot. The nature of kicking the ball this way, due to the rounded end of the boot, gives a random nature to the direction in which the ball travels. A rugby punt means a hoof down field when the ball is usually, but not exclusively, kicked on the volley after being dropped from the hands and incorporates the top of the boot i.e. the laces.
