Ashtons sale highlights the clubs true intentions.

If the club considers itself as a genuine premier league contender, why sell one of the few genuine premier league players we have? Why not wait until the end of the season when promotion is either achieved or not.
Still we didnt really make much of an effort to stay in the premier ...........so why bother now?
