I don't think it'd make any difference to us either way

we're already bombing ISIS in one part of their domain so...

it won't make us any safer but if it helps speed up the end of a regime that throws people off the top of apartment blocks, beheads children and engages in ethnic cleansing of various minorities, then the question is really whether there is a greater humanitarian benefit.
