Go for a NAS - you can stream your music without being tied to your PC

You'll need to stream through something like Twonky or Minimserver though - so it's worth researching before you shell out for something.

I stream FLAC files to several Sonos from a QNAP NAS, and it's much more convenient than a PC plus external hard drvie.
