Don't forget that these are largely the same players that conceded for fun when we parked the bus most weeks from summer 2012-2014. 120 goals over two seasons! Bear in mind most of these players have declined and are well past their 'peaks'.

Brady is the only new addition who has become a regular... and he's a left sided midfielder. I think in total the club has only invested around ?10M on the defence since promotion under Lambert, which tells its own story. You would be lucky to sign one quality defender for that amount in the current market.

The defence is going to be poor regardless of how the team is set up. Okay, results can be improved with sharper tactics, but that doesn't mean our defence is good enough for the short or long term.
