Gets handed ?70m this season regardless of performance. So he can balance the books - wow well done! I think most of us could.

He failed us this summer in his most important task. That, and the inability of the coaching staff to organise our defence may well mean that by January we are in a position that is very, very difficult to recover from because at the moment we cannot keep a clean sheet in any game and consequently don't look like beating anyone.
