They were "donated" a dead whale which they were going to use to illustrate that the sort of scientific experiments the Japanese carry out under that guise (but really killing whales for their tender bits) could be done on a carcass just as easily & that there are loads of dead whales everywhere, so why not use them...reason being of course, that they aren't fresh for eating!
