I never had a strong one to begin with anyway and certainly dont have one now. I havnt done anything 'deliberately' as you put it.... Just a fact of life. Neither parents were from Norwich so was a major influence in not building a norwich accent and by the time i was getting one i left Norwich at the age of 17. Just circumstances really and not one that bothers me in the slightest.
