What horrid supporters Wet Spam have...
At the game today, received abuse walking to the ground, minding my own with my girlfriend. This included being called a see-you-next-Tuesday from some West Ham 'fans'.
After the game a Kid who had been in attendance decided to chuck a bottle of fizzy drink towards my girlfriend which covered her. When she remonstrated with the kid (who was laughing at the situation) his Dad decided to act the big man. Rather than apologies for his childs' behaviour, he thought it better to threatened to hit me. Obviously we backed off (two Norwich fans in a pack of Wet Spam supporters was only going to go one way).
The whole area had a real undercurrent of aggro and that it could kick off at any time. I have been to plenty of away games and never experienced anything like it. Thankfully never have to go there again after this season (hopefully the more idyllic surroundings of the Olympic stadium will put WHU fans in a less aggressive mood).
As an aside, thought we played well. Obviously annoying conceding at the end (another goal we have let in from a set-piece), but overall happy with 2 points from last two away games. OTBC
