The problem I have is.....

these people are not the most oppressed and certainly not the poorest people who need our help the most.
They have all paid pretty decent sums to get to Europe.

The people back in these war torn countries are the ones who really need our help.

Will these "celebrations" convince more people to get in s**tty boats and die in the process........

With the incredibly sad pictures we have witnessed recently I guess its human nature to want an uplifting event.
I fear that it may be at a horrible cost.
