From the Palace viewpoint, it appears that had we got Gayle before.......
Bournemouth signed Murray, we wouldn't have had a problem. Palace only wanted to replace Gayle first because they had already let Murray go earlier today.
So this is effectively our own fault for being too late to the party.
This comes from the local Croydon newspapers quoting a source within Palace by the way.
