There was a really sad story on Newsnight yesterday
About a girl in Kabul who was stoned and beaten to death after someone falsely accused her of burning the qu'ran. A really tragic story of mob justice which provoked a lot of questions about the rule of law in Afghanistan and mon justice. Except on Twitter, where there were as many comments equating Muslims to sub-humans and expressing the wish that we block the tunnel at Calais to stop them invading as there were expressing sorrow and sympathy. It was really depressing to read. One would hope these are the same people upvoting those comments and that it's a small subsection of society who are just very vocal online, but it certainly doesn't help encourage inclusivity when you see the type of headlines the tabloids employ against migrants.
