Just back from the game

Well about to strike for home anyway.

The ref was shockingly bad. Talked to a few Palace in the pub and they agreed and none of them could see what was wrong with the goal either. Bass should have had a clear penno as well. And the lino was s**t as well.

The half time bar was shockingly bad too. I got there 20 seconds before the HT whistle went and got served after the second half had already started (I was only after a soft drink luckily so could take it back with me). Two staff on neither working fast a "card only" queue (why?) that wasn't (I paid cash having seen everyone in front doing so, though I had a card ready too).

Our spirit was great but our execution weak. We needed to make more of that first twenty minutes or so - was at the Barclay end looking into the sun so hard to see too clearly but it looked like Grabbs should have had one and there were other chances too.

I liked the look of Brady and think Redmond needs to start. I still think we need a new CB as top priority and a striker too.

We never beat Palace and we never win our first game and this was clearly a learning experience refereed by someone evidently not up to the job at the top level. However at least a draw would have been justice and on another day we'd have left with three points.

I'm not Jimmed - we have work to do and I have a lot of confidence in AN to see what needs to be done and Make It So. I still think we're staying up.
