Decent workout, plenty of positives

Our second eleven very much held their own I felt against the West Ham equivalent. the game only really got away from us in the last 30 minutes when I thought several of our players (especially in midfield) tired a bit and that, in combination with their mass influx of quick players with fresh legs enabled them to open us up.

Ruddy and Vadis the two picks for me, Redmond did well also when he came on. Generally we look tidy and sharp and there was not much aimless hoofing which is promising. Perhaps the one really noticeable thing tonight is that every team at prem level has an abundance of power and pace going forward and perhaps we need a touch more of that both up front and at the back. That said we lost that game because their tactic of playing two teams gave them the edge late on rather than due to them being noticeably superior. Would be good to beat Brentford though to go into the season on a winning note.
