Yes, you can pick up sims in the airport

your only real option for unlimited 4G data will be a 3 sim, I would imagine. Reception isn't always the best everywhere, but it'll do most of the time. ?15 will get you 30 days with unlimited data - I did exactly what you are doing - bought this sim as I walked through heathrow on my way into UK last october and it worked fine - just make sure your phone is unlocked and you'll be set - they sell them in vending machines in the baggage collection hall - you will get charged a premium for the sim and the fact it is in a vending machine, so you will probably pay ?20 for it, but it's still a data bargain...
