Ricky Creationists vs Ricky Deniers
Me, I'm a Denier, always have been. He has neither the awareness nor the physicality nor the work ethic required to play as a lone striker in a 4-2-3-1/4-1-4-1 - and even against the weakest teams 4-1-3-2 (a formation he could possibly work in) feels a little unlikely tbh.
He thrives on quality ball into feet in the right areas. But our strikers need to hold the ball up, work the channels, fight for it, make their own chances. RVW would have scored neither Jerome's goal vs scum in the semi nor Jerome's goal vs Boro in the final.
We *do* need a striker of a different kind to Grabban/Jerome and Hoops probably isn't quite it, but RVW certainly isn't.
Of *course* I would be simply delighted if he proved me wrong and started banging them in. But I really, really struggle to see it.

- But he would have scored from the cross Jerome failed to connect with prior to Johnson (NCFC) - The Editor of Milk, Jul 19, 07:54:38
- The possible revival, or not, of RvW makes a great subplot to the start of the new season (n/m) (NCFC) - derbyshire canary, Jul 18, 23:17:45
