I don't think there's any better recent example than
Leicester.
Couldn't buy a win for toffee. Everyone saying they were down. Playing games not to lose them rather than trying to win. Perhaps there was belief within the club itself that they were heading for regulation. I mean, with 9 games to go and rooted at the bottom of the Prem, there was no escaping heading back to the Championship.
Then something changed. Pearson probably told them to just go and enjoy the last few games, give it a go, and see what happens. Seven wins, a draw and a defeat to Chelsea later, and Leicester end up a mid-table Premier League club.
Fear no one. Be positive. Have belief. Give it your best shot. A recipe for success.
I never ever, ever, EVER again want to hear the words "but Are a team who can hurt you..." from a manager of ours. Respect your opponents yes, but there's no reason to fear them.
