The Board will say that they have full and unbridled faith in Worthington to "get us up this season".

They'll point out that West Ham needed two years to do so, that (quite probably) Leeds did as well, and, in addition to that, at least one of Palace and Southampton, and, quite probably both, aren't going back up this season either.

Nope, we'll not make the play offs this season, and there'll be questions asked and speculation will be rife, but he'll have the chance to rebuild the squad come the Summer, and the board, after letting him do that, will find it as unthinkable to sack him then, as they do now. IMHO, his tenure is absolutely rock solid, no question, for at least another year.
