My Mum's got a Nissan
not a qashqai I think; but my point is that she swears it's incredibly well engineered, and from what little of I've seen of it it seems to be.
I've got a beat up (quite old) little 3-series that has lasted me forever because I know BMW's build quality is good enough to do that. I've replaced oil, water, brake discs/pads, tyres, bulbs, windscreen fluid as you'd expect but pretty much nothing else has gone wrong with it ever. When I do replace it it's likely to be with another beemer or similar because the quality of the engineering not only gives me a great drive at stupidly good economy (I get near enough 50mpg) but means it rarely if ever goes wrong even at age/highish mileage. From my conversations with Mum, which are admittedly limited, I think she gets the same kind of thing from her Nissan, though her mileage is maybe a tenth what mine is and probably less.
